Benjamin Antony Boseman Jr.

Background

Benjamin Antony Boseman Jr. was born free to Benjamin Boseman and Annaretta Boseman on July 30th, 1840. He was the oldest of 5 children, two girls and three boys. He grew up in Troy, New York. His father worked as a steward on a steamboat and as a merchant selling provisions to the army. He attended New York Central College from 1854 to 1856. He married Virginia Montgomery in 1870. Shortly after they had two children named Christopher and Ada.
